The University Prep Panthers will take on the West Valley Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
West Valley will take on a team with plenty of momentum: University Prep extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Panthers never let Central Valley get on the board and left with a 10-0 win.
Not much got past Jack Ampi, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Central Valley off the board. University Prep is 3-1 when Ampi allows one or fewer hits, but 4-11-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyson Wurzer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
West Valley came out on top against Anderson on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Cubs. Considering the Eagles have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Bryton Miller was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Gunner Church was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Jayden Miller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs.
University Prep's victory bumped their record up to 7-12-1. As for West Valley, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. University Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like West Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
University Prep suffered a grim 16-10 defeat to West Valley in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
