Soccer Recap: John Paul II Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

John Paul II was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Pinewood Prep Panthers 2-1. This was a revenge game for John Paul II: when they faced off against Pinewood Prep on April 4th, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Ayla Reynolds and Hollis Melnick scored both of John Paul II's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 30 goals.

John Paul II is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Pinewood Prep, the defeat snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 15-4-1 record.

Looking ahead, John Paul II will square off against Ashley Hall at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pinewood Prep, they will take on Porter-Gaud at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pinewood Prep will need to watch out since Porter-Gaud have now posted at least four goals in their last four matchups.
