Basketball Game Preview: Graham G-Men vs. John Marshall Justices

The Graham G-Men will square off against the John Marshall Justices at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Graham knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 contests -- so hopefully John Marshall likes a good challenge.

Graham is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 62-61 win over Floyd County. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the G-Men have posted since February 14th.

Meanwhile, John Marshall waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Bulldogs 104-53. Given the Justices' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Bulldogs are ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

John Marshall's win came from a few key players Graham will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aiden Argabright, who shot 4-for-6 from deep and almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Latrell Allmond, who shot 75% from the field en route to 19 points along with five boards and three blocks.

John Marshall was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 22 assists in six consecutive contests.

John Marshall pushed their record up to 24-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 102.2 points over those games. As for Graham, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.
