Recap: GlenOak Golden Eagles vs. Lake Blue Streaks
The GlenOak Golden Eagles only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 31-point they dealt the Lake Blue Streaks on Friday. GlenOak blew past Lake 78-47 on the road. Given GlenOak's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Lake is ranked 466th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
GlenOak was led to victory by Ja'Corey Lipkins and Reese Zerger. Lipkins scored 20 points along with five steals, while Zerger almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Lipkins is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 16 games he's played. Jaylen Mcelroy was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five steals.
GlenOak pushed their record up to 14-5 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lake, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
GlenOak will head out on the road to face off against Alliance at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully GlenOak focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. As for Lake, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Washington at 7:15 p.m. on February 16th. Washington has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 215 points over their last three contests.
