Greenwood won the last time they faced New Covenant Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Greenwood Blue Jays sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-51 win over the New Covenant Academy Warriors. Given the Blue Jays' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Warriors are ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Greenwood and bumps their season record up to 17-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games. As for New Covenant Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Blue Jays challenge the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Covenant Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
