Softball Recap: Nardin Academy Gators vs. St. Mary's Lancers

Nardin Academy extended their postseason success on Monday against St. Mary. They put the hurt on the St. Mary's Lancers with a sharp 10-2 victory. Considering Nardin Academy has won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Erin Nuwer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Nuwer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive pitching appearances. Nuwer was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Nardin Academy got a massive performance out of Molly Griffin, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Emily Gorman, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

On St. Mary's side, Brooke Dobson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

The win (which was Nardin Academy's ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-2. As for St. Mary's, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
