Soccer Game Preview: Burke vs. Bryan

The Burke Bulldogs will head out to take on the Bryan Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Burke is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Westview on Thursday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 2-1. One reason for the loss might be Burke's aggressive play style: three Burke players were handed yellow cards.

Their goal came courtesy of Helder Citalan, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Bryan faced Lincoln High in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bears fell just short of the Links by a score of 1-0.

Bryan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Burke, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
