Volleyball Game Preview: Winn Mavericks vs. McCollum Cowboys + How To Watch

Winn is 1-9 against McCollum since September of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mavericks will head out on the road to challenge the Cowboys at 6:00 p.m.

On Friday, Winn came up short against Southwest Legacy and fell 3-1.

Winn started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-18.

Meanwhile, McCollum came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Indians by a score of 3-1.

McCollum had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-10.

Winn better focus on containing Madelynn Ruiz and Arianna Sanchez as the pair were huge in McCollum's win. Ruiz had 16 assists and eight digs, while Sanchez had 22 digs and two aces. Sanchez has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last eight times she's played. Mariah Soliz also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Winn's loss dropped their record down to 9-26. As for McCollum, their win bumped their record up to 28-7.

Winn might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from McCollum in their previous matchup back in September.
