MacKenzie Paulin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Lemay, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. Gloria McDonald was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Greenfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millis only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, West Boylston earned a 6-3 victory over Franklin County Tech on Wednesday.
West Boylston is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Greenfield, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6.
