Basketball Recap: Hutchinson Comes Up Short

Hutchinson lost against Southwest Christian back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hutchinson Tigers had to suffer through a 83-43 loss at the hands of the Southwest Christian Stars. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Stars are ranked 67th).

Hutchinson has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points over those games. As for Southwest Christian, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Hutchinson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 81-49 loss against Mound-Westonka on the 8th. As for Southwest Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Le Sueur-Henderson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
