Recap: Fabens Wildcats vs. Immanuel Christian Warriors
The Fabens Wildcats can finally bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Immanuel Christian and snuck past 55-52. Fabens' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Immanuel Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carlos Acu?a, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Acu?a is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hector Perez, who scored 13 points along with five assists.
Fabens' victory bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Immanuel Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 12-2.
Fabens won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Canutillo at 2:30 p.m. on December 15th. Canutillo presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fabens in Texas (Canutillo is ranked 510th, while Fabens is ranked 1662nd). Immanuel Christian will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Clint at 4:30 p.m. on December 14th. Clint is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
