Soccer Recap: Smithfield Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pilgrim on Saturday, Smithfield came back down to earth. The Sentinels came up short against the Cumberland Clippers on Monday, falling 6-2. Smithfield haven't had much luck with Cumberland recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Kaya Hayden and Aliva King scored both of Smithfield's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Smithfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-4. As for Cumberland, their win bumped their record up to 9-5-3.

Smithfield wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Mt. Hope on the 22nd. As for Cumberland, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Cranston West on the 23rd.
