Basketball Preview: Rock Bridge Bruins vs. Central Blue Eagles
The Rock Bridge Bruins will head out on the road to take on the Central Blue Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Bridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 653 points over their last ten matches.
Rock Bridge pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Jefferson City 64-59.
Meanwhile, Central stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Southeast 96-19 at home. Given Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Knights are ranked 471st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brandon Moore was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tim Wooden, who scored 24 points along with six assists and five steals.
Rock Bridge's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Central, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.
Rock Bridge strolled past the Blue Eagles in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 86-68. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rock Bridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
