Softball Recap: West Campus Wins Going Away Against Burbank

The West Campus Warriors got the win against the Burbank Titans on Friday by a conclusive 15-3. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 12 runs or more this season.

Derion Aaron was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alena West, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

West Campus hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

West Campus is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Burbank, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Campus will challenge McClatchy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Burbank, they will square off against Florin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 22.57 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
