Softball Recap: Laurens Takes a Loss

Laurens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 15-3 to the Woodruff Wolverines. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-6 back in March.

Laurens saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zealy Martin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Laurens' loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Woodruff, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-6.

Coming up, Laurens will head out on the road to take on Emerald at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Woodruff, they will square off against Mountain View Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
