Softball Recap: D.H. Conley Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

With a playoff win on the line, D.H. Conley rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They beat the Cleveland Rams by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

Kendall Howard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 24 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lena Zurface was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

D.H. Conley pushed their record up to 23-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Cleveland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: D.H. Conley beat the Rams by a score of 6-2 on Thursday.
