Softball Recap: Millry Extends Winning Streak to Three

Millry put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their undefeated season alive. They came out on top against the University Charter Trail Blazers by a score of 5-1. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Millry's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Makon Pitts, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Khloe Kirkland also deserves some recognition as she hit her first hit of the season.

Millry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Millry pushed their record up to 3-0-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for University Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Coming up, Millry will venture away from home to take on University Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for University Charter, they will be taking part in a tournament against Southern Choctaw at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
