Volleyball Recap: Greenwood Woodmen vs. New Palestine Dragons

Greenwood and New Palestine squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Greenwood had to settle for second. They came up short against the Dragons, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Woodmen of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Genevieve Schroeder paced Greenwood's offense, picking up 11 kills. Schroeder got some help from Adrianna Rosebrock and her 24 assists. Finally, Maddison Judge kept Greenwood's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

New Palestine's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Azure Flagle, who had 12 digs and one assist. Flagle is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Greenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 12-18. As for New Palestine, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 28-4.

Greenwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Palestine, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Roncalli on the 18th.
