Soccer Game Preview: McCollum vs. Winn

The McCollum Cowboys will head out to take on the Winn Mavericks at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, McCollum didn't have quite enough to beat Harlandale and fell 3-2. The Cowboys haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Winn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Southwest Legacy. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Mavericks couldn't quite close it out.

Winn's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for McCollum, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

McCollum came out on top in a nail-biter against Winn when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for McCollum since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
