Basketball Recap: Glenwood Springs Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Glenwood Springs posted their closest victory since February 6, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past the Eagle Valley Devils 60-58. The win was nothing new for the Demons as they're now sitting on three straight.

Glenwood Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamison Godfread led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Godfread a new career-high in rebounds. Aiden Parrington was another key player, going 8 of 13 en route to 17 points and seven boards.

Defeat or not, Eagle Valley got some senior leadership from Dylan Zoller and Tyler Bates. Zoller dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Bates went 7 for 9 to rack up 17 points and eight boards. Bates continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jonah Medina, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

The victory got Glenwood Springs back to even at 9-9. As for Eagle Valley, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.

Glenwood Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-51 defeat against Douglas County on the 8th. As for Eagle Valley, they will challenge Summit at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Eagle Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.9 points per game this season.
