League recap: Wooten throws longest pass in league this season for Princeton

1A Conference 12 recap September 10, 2013

Fans got a thrill when Michael Wooten and Johnny Frasier connected against Dixon. The connection was good for 77 yards, the longest such play in 1A Conference 12 this season.

James Kenan was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. The Tigers vanquished Union 44-6 earlier in the week.

Dominique Barnes and Marcelias Sutton gave James Kenan a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Barnes threw for 121 yards and 3 touchdowns, while Sutton ran for 157 yards. Al Owens also contributed to the rushing game with 26 yards on the ground.

Barnes and Sutton gave Ken Avent, Jr.'s team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.

Marvin Bruinton made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Tigers beat the Spartans. The 5-foot-11 senior.

He went 3-5 with 0 interceptions.

Sutton was the best running back in the league this week.

Frasier was the best receiver in 1A Conference 12 this week as Princeton lost to the Bulldogs. Frasier racked up 3 receptions for 104 yards. Tanner Woodard helped Princeton's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 30 yards.

Barnes put up the best numbers through the air as James Kenan defeated Union. Barnes' favorite target this week was Antonio Smith, who caught 2 passes for 79 yards.

Sutton was a passing and rushing force as the Tigers bested Douglas Burley's team.

James Kenan took down the Spartans 44-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Barnes ran for 26 yards during the win.
