After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Freeman, Fairbury was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Wood River Eagles 2-1. The Jeffs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Destiny Vocelka paced Fairbury's offense, picking up five kills. Vocelka got some help from Taryn Hinman and her 28 assists. Alecia Bedlan controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
The win got Fairbury back to even at 1-1. As for Wood River, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Fairbury didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Clarkson/Leigh on the 30th. As for Wood River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Sutton on the 30th.
