Baseball Recap: Oley Valley's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Oley Valley had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-5 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Schuylkill Valley Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lynx also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Timothy Fries was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Oley Valley is 5-1 when Fries allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Fries was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Beau Fegely, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Oley Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Schuylkill Valley struck out 12 times.

As for Schuylkill Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly three runs.

On Schuylkill Valley's side, Bodie James spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.
