Basketball Recap: Roane County Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

If South Harrison wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Roane County, they should've done a better job of containing Anna Tolley. The Roane County Raiders enjoyed a cozy 46-31 win over the South Harrison Hawks on Saturday thanks in part to Tolley, who went 7 for 17 to rack up 21 points and four steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Joplin Harlan, who posted five points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Roane County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for South Harrison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roane County will welcome Ritchie County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Harrison, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hawks duke it out with the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. South Harrison is facing Braxton County at the right time seeing as Braxton County is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
