Baseball Recap: Wise Pumas vs. Northwestern Wildcats
If Wise was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Bladensburg last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pumas came up short against the Northwestern Wildcats on Wednesday, falling 12-5. The Pumas were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Kian Lee and Taylor Brown did some serious damage despite the final result: Lee scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-2, while Brown scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Reed, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Wise's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Northwestern, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.
