 Freeport lost against Shady Side Academy back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Monday. The Freeport Yellowjackets might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  3-2 to the Shady Side Academy Bulldogs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Freeport has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 For Shady Side Academy's part,  David Dillon was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Dillon has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Dillon was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Dillon wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Zachary Barber, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 Freeport's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Shady Side Academy,  the  win  made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 8-5.
 While Freeport had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:15  p.m.  on Tuesday.
