Basketball Game Preview: Idea Timberwolves vs. Ron Brown Monarchs

The Idea Timberwolves and the Ron Brown Monarchs will compete for holiday cheer at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Idea is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: DC International, who was ranked 19th at the time (Idea was ranked 23rd). Idea was dealt a 70-33 defeat at the hands of DC International on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Ron Brown played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Roosevelt and fell 70-33. The Monarchs haven't had much luck with the Roughriders recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Idea has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Ron Brown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Idea strolled past Ron Brown in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 64-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Idea since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
