Legacy Christian Academy snaps seven-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Knights vs. Urbana Hillclimbers

After a string of 11 wins, the Legacy Christian Academy Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Urbana. Legacy Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Urbana apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.

Legacy Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Combs, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Combs is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ali Solomon, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Urbana's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexandra Dixon, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Dixon hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Peyton Mounce, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Legacy Christian Academy's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2. As for Urbana, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Legacy Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Dayton Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. As for Urbana, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Liberty-Salem at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (West Liberty-Salem is ranked 164th, while Urbana is ranked 169th).
