Basketball Recap: Grapevine Faith Christian Find Success

Grapevine Faith Christian picked up another tournament win on Friday. They walked away with a 43-34 win over the Alpine Bucks.

Scarlett Bair was her usual excellent self, putting up 16 points. Another player making a difference was Anna Henderson, who posted eight points.

Despite the loss, Alpine saw an underclassman step up: freshman Gyllian Morrissey went 7 of 13 en route to 16 points along with six boards and five steals. Morrissey has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Smith, who had seven points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Grapevine Faith Christian's record now sits at 6-7. As for Alpine, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

Grapevine Faith Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 42-35 victory against Roosevelt on the 27th. As for Alpine, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-38 win against Reagan County on the 27th.
