Basketball Recap: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial Takes a Loss

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They were beaten by the McAllen Bulldogs 48-18. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1280th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 635th).

McAllen found their leader in freshman Olivia Gonzalez, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 14 points. That's the most points Gonzalez has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hailey Martinez, who posted five points and five steals.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for McAllen, their win bumped their record up to 18-15.
