Last Tuesday, Elgin/Pope John didn't have too much trouble with Fullerton as they won 48-31. Given the Wolfpack's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Warriors are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elgin/Pope John to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kate Furstenau, who posted 12 points. Braelyn Martinsen was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Stuart came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 40-35 win over the Tigers. The team accrued 28 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.

Elgin/Pope John pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Stuart, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
