Baseball Recap: Advance Comes Up Short

Advance entered their contest against Bernie on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Hornets fell just short of the Mules by a score of 3-1. The match marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Advance saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Henson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Advance is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Bernie, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Advance will venture away from home to face off against Chaffee at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bernie, they will face off against Bell City at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
