Football Game Preview: Brentwood School Eagles vs. Portola Bulldogs + Official Tickets

The Brentwood School Eagles will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Portola Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Brentwood School will be strutting in after a victory while Portola will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Brentwood School made easy work of Viewpoint and carried off a 28-7 win. Considering the Eagles have won seven matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ben Mikail continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 221 yards and two touchdowns. His passing game has become a key predictor of Brentwood School's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Marcus Rosenthal also helped with two scores in total.

Brentwood School's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Reed Langan refused to say out of the backfield, picking up three sacks all by himself.

Meanwhile, Portola started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Pacifica. They fell 20-7 to the Mariners on Thursday. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Brentwood School has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.7 points on average over those games. As for Portola, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.
