Softball Recap: Mars Hill Bible Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Mars Hill Bible entered their tilt with James Clemens on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Jets with a sharp 11-3 victory. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Jets on April 4th, they had to take a 5-1 loss.

Kelsie McDaniel looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Molly Wright was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Katilyn McGee was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Mars Hill Bible hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matchups.

Mars Hill Bible's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 31-10. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for James Clemens, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-24-2 record this season.

Mars Hill Bible wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-1 defeat against Colbert County on the 19th. As for James Clemens, they will take on Priceville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
