League recap: Hill breaks off league-leading run for Vista Ridge

4A Region IV District 25 recap September 4, 2013

JD Hill of Vista Ridge ran for the longest rushing play in 4A Region IV District 25 this season against Bastrop last week. Hill ran for 66 yards on the play and finished with 68 on the day as his team bested the Bears.

Vandegrift moved up to 130 from 173 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Vipers climbed the ranks as a result of beating McNeil 31-0.

Luke Peterman was the best receiver in the league this week as Vandegrift topped the Mavericks. Peterman racked up 4 receptions for 110 yards.

Brennen Wooten put up the best numbers through the air as Marble Falls fell to La Grange. He had a total of 26 completions for 252 yards. Wooten's favorite target this week was Garrett Gray, who caught 5 passes for 74 yards.

Stedman Mayberry was the most successful running back in 4A Region IV District 25 this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 135 yards as Vista Ridge beat McNeil.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Peterman. The Vandegrift star has 4 catches for 110 yards.

Cedar Park was the team made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fourth in the league. The Timberwolves beat Westlake 43-31 earlier in the week.
