Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Washington County

Washington County hadn't done well against Leroy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Washington County Bulldogs secured a 47-43 W over the Leroy Bears. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Bears last Monday, they had to take a 43-39 defeat.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ian White, who posted 15 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Byrd, who had 12 points and four steals.

Washington County's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Leroy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Washington County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 40-35 victory against Millry on the 20th. As for Leroy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-47 win against St. Luke's Episcopal on the 20th.
