The Toll Gate Titans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Times Squared Academy by a score of 64-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Toll Gate has suffered yet this season.
Toll Gate's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Colvin, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Colvin scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Perreault, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 20 rebounds.
Toll Gate's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Times Squared Academy, their victory ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.
Toll Gate will take on Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Times Squared Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Kingstown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (South Kingstown is ranked 22nd, while Times Squared Academy is ranked 33rd).
