Basketball Recap: Chesapeake Science Point Comes Up Short at Home Against Varsity Opponent + How To Watch

Chesapeake Science Point unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 51-41 to Varsity Opponent on Friday. Chesapeake Science Point was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Varsity Opponent apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Several Chesapeake Science Point players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Oluwanifemi Ogungbile, who posted 12 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Thorpe, who earned eight points and six rebounds.

Coming up, Chesapeake Science Point will take on Surrattsville at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 72-10 defeat against High Point Christian Academy on the 5th.
