Baseball Recap: O'connor Takes Down Ranked Mountain Ridge

O'Connor faced Mountain Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Eagles walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Mountain Lions. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mountain Lions, too.

Matthew Del Carlo got the start for O'Connor and what a start it was: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Del Carlo has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Logan Liebeck was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacoby Noble, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

O'Connor hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.

O'Connor's record now sits at 18-7-2. As for Mountain Ridge, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 14-11 record.

Coming up, O'Connor is taking a road trip to take on Corona del Sol at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain Ridge will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' contest: after the Eagles face off against the Aztecs, they'll take on Mountain Ridge again at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
