Soccer Game Preview: Clinton vs. Eau Claire

The Clinton Red Devils will take on the Eau Claire Shamrocks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clinton is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Clinton is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Fairfield Central get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory last Thursday. Clinton's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five matchups.

Their offense was hitting Fairfield Central from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Gracie Baker led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Eau Claire fell victim to Chester and their airtight defense last Thursday. They lost 13-0 to the Cyclones. Eau Claire have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clinton pushed their record up to 7-6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Eau Claire, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
