Softball Recap: New Plymouth Pilgrims vs. Orofino Maniacs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but New Plymouth had no problem doing just that on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Orofino Maniacs 12-11. The victory made it back-to-back wins for New Plymouth.

New Plymouth let Emma Myers and Abi Robinson loose on the outfield. Myers went 1-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Robinson went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and an RBI. Another player making a difference was Lauren Ferreira, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

On Orofino's side, they got a massive performance out of Rilee Diffin, who went 1-for-4 with a home run, a stolen base, and two RBI. Jaelyn Miller was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

New Plymouth has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-15 record this season. As for Orofino, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-10.

New Plymouth is on the road again on Saturday to play Cole Valley Christian at 9:00 a.m. Cole Valley Christian will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something New Plymouth surely won't give up without a fight. Orofino does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
