Basketball Game Preview: Bunn Wildcats vs. Southern Nash Firebirds

Bunn is 1-9 against Southern Nash since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bunn Wildcats will welcome the Southern Nash Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. Bunn has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Bunn turned things around against J.F. Webb on Monday. They walked away with a 64-56 victory over the Warriors. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.

Isaac Bailey and Josiah Rice were among the main playmakers for Bunn as the former dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards and the latter went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Those 21 points gave Bailey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Kearney, who posted 12 points along with eight assists and five boards.

Bunn was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Southern Nash beat Beddingfield 53-48 on Saturday.

The victory got Southern Nash back to even at 4-4. As for Bunn, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Bunn was able to grind out a solid victory over Southern Nash in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 52-40. Will Bunn repeat their success, or does Southern Nash have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
