Reno comes up short despite Kindle Rowe's dominant performance

Recap: Reno Huskies vs. Bishop Manogue Miners

The Reno Huskies struggled with offensive rebounds on Saturday (the Bishop Manogue Miners had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Reno was dealt a 63-31 defeat at the hands of Bishop Manogue. While losing is never fun, Reno can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Bishop Manogue is ranked second).

Despite the loss, Reno still got an impressive performance from Kindle Rowe, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Rowe scored a full 41.9% of Reno's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Leading Bishop Manogue to victory were Mata Peaua and Fa'anaetaua Puloka. Peaua scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Puloka scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The game was Peaua's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Brunetti, who scored two points along with six steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Reno and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for Bishop Manogue, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reno will take on McQueen at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop Manogue, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carson at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Carson is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
