Softball Recap: West Salem Has No Trouble Against Westby

West Salem never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Westby Norsemen 11-0. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for West Salem and bumps their season record up to 9-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 3-6 Westby and 4-7 Luther. As for Westby, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Salem will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau at 5:30 p.m. on the 12th. As for Westby, they will take on Luther at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.62 runs per game on average), something the Norsemen will no doubt try to take advantage of.
