League recap: Covington Catholic tops Conner to extend winning streak

4A District 7 recap November 5, 2013

Covington Catholic extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 7 this week by beating Conner, 40-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

Highlands and Warren Central played the most contested game in the league this week, with Highlands eventually emerging with a 71-69 victory.

Covington Catholic's dynamic duo of Ben Dressman and Evan Braun proved to be unstoppable against the Cougars, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dressman threw for 182 yards and 3 touchdowns and Braun had 64 yards receiving. Lee McClure helped Covington Catholic's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 50 yards.

He was 15-28 with 0 interceptions.

Harrison County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Thorobreds feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Robbie Stroub has thrown for 1,642 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Justin Hunter has 38 catches for 653 yards.

David Wirth's team took down Conner 40-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dressman ran for 98 yards in the win.
