Soccer Game Preview: Robinson vs. Fairfax

The Robinson Rams will challenge the Fairfax Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Robinson will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Robinson earned a 3-1 victory over West Potomac. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Robinson's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 51st, while West Potomac are ranked 253rd).

Meanwhile, Fairfax lost 5-1 to Lake Braddock on Wednesday. Fairfax have struggled against Lake Braddock recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Robinson pushed their record up to 6-1-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Fairfax, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Everything went Robinson's way against Fairfax in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Robinson made off with a 5-1 win. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
