Softball Recap: Wayne Hills Comes Up Short

Wayne Hills managed to slip by West Milford the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Patriots lost 10-1 to the Highlanders on Wednesday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Wayne Hills saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlee Mirko, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That run was Mirko's first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Wayne Hills and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for West Milford, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Wayne Hills will square off against Northern Highlands at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for West Milford, they will head out to square off against Montville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
