Softball Recap: Sanger West Beats Sunnyside for Their Third Straight Victory

Sanger West entered their tilt with Sunnyside on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Wildcats 16-4. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sanger West got a big performance out of Alyssa Hernandez, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave Hernandez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bailey Flores, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sanger West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Sanger West's victory bumped their record up to 7-11-2. As for Sunnyside, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Sanger West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against Justin Garza on the 5th. As for Sunnyside, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-3 defeat against McLane on the 6th.
