Softball Game Preview: Ubly Bearcats vs. Millington Cardinals

The Ubly Bearcats will square off against the Millington Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Ubly barely beat Capac the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bearcats blew past the Chiefs 18-2 on Thursday. The Bearcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Millington got the win against Laker on Thursday by a conclusive 16-6. Considering the Cardinals have won four matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Millington got a massive performance out of Lilly Damm, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That double was Damm's first of the season. Karlie Sherman was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Millington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Laker only managed three hits.

Millington's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Ubly, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
