Brick Township had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Manchester Township Hawks, sneaking past 4-3. For the Green Dragons, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 victory the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2019.

Brick Township saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Goodfellow, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. James Donoghue was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Brick Township will have a chance to go back-to-back against Manchester Township: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
